Thursday 20130530 – Ml Dawud Samson, who hails from Cape Town, dedicates much of his time with the youth and addressing their challenges. Moulana mentioned that, of all the many pressures kids between the ages of 12 and 17 years encounter, drugs is the most common and most difficult. Adult’s preoccupation with personal ambition too compounds the problem.
It’s imperative and vital for parents to know their teens, know their friends and know their environments. Today, there is not a family that is not affected by drug abuse. Whether lower class, middle class or higher class, this scourge does not discriminate.
As mentioned by Moulana Dawud in this podcast, there are five possible reasons people resort to drugs: to feel grown-up; to fit in and belong; to relax and feel good; to take risks; and to rebel and satisfy curiosity.
Moulana advised the youth with the words of Allah The Most Kind:
??????????? ??? ??????? ??????? ????? ???????? ????????????? ????? ????????????? ? ???????????? ? ????? ??????? ??????? ??????????????
`Spend in the Path (obedience) of Allah (in worship and striving) and do not throw your own hands (do not lead yourselves) into destruction. Do good, for Allah certainly loves those who do good.’ (Ch2-Vs195)
Ya Shabaab Al Ghad, Oh youth of tomorrow, do not destroy yourself…
This is part 1 of 2…
