As part of Radio Islam’s election focus ahead of the 2019 National elections, we will be have having a series of debates between various political parties in Durban and Johannesburg.
The 2019 General Elections on 8 May is expected to be the mostly hotly contested polls in recent years.
Political parties have been on the campaign trail for months in various cities and communities across South Africa interacting with residents who are holding politicians to account as they protest for better housing, sanitation and service delivery.
Radio Islam’s debates under theme “Your Vote, Your Future” will feature representatives from the ANC, DA, EFF, IFP and NFP amongst others.
The Islamic radio station’s Mufti Yusuf Moosagie says while Muslims and citizens of Indian decent are a minority in South Africa, issues that affect the broader community also affect them.
Mufti Moosagie has urged the Muslim and non-Muslim community to take a keen interest in the debates, the governance of the country and holding politicians to account.
“We are giving you the public the opportunity to interrogate the politicians on issues that are relevant to you, issues that are of concern to you and like that you can decide who is best suited to govern this country and to take it forward.”
The debate will be live streamed on Radio Islam. Tune in here: Radio Islam Live Audio Streaming
