Woolworths Concerned After Dead Frog Found in Salad

November 18, 2014

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News, 2014-11-18

Woolworths have expressed concern after a shopper found a dead frog in a salad he bought from the retailer on the 15th of November.

Dirk Steenekamp tweeted and posted a picture of a dead frog that he found in his Woolworths salad to Instagram.

Steenekamp professed that he would “Never again” shop at the retailer.”

In a statement the retailer claimed that they have already been in touch with Steenekamp as part of a thorough investigation into the matter.

Woolworths said they do use pesticides sparingly, to ensure that fresh produce is grown in a healthy environment, but a healthy farm attracts insects, frogs, birds and other wildlife and it may well be that the frog slipped through their extensive quality checks undetected. – EWN
