Social media platform WhatsApp has warned users may start losing functionality if they have not yet accepted the new terms and conditions.

Following Saturday’s deadline, WhatsApp users who are yet to accept the changes will start receiving persistent reminders.

Since the terms and conditions were announced in January, there have been concerns about the prospect of increased data sharing with WhatsApp parent company Facebook, but this will not be changing.

WhatsApp says users who do not accept the new terms and conditions will start being unable to see chat lists and ending with not receiving video calls and messages.

WhatsApp however says no accounts will  be deleted.
