Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian man and wounded at least 36 others in an early morning raid in Nablus on Thursday.
Medics at the Specialised Arab Hospital in the city reported that Waseem Nasser Abu Khalifa was killed during the raid.
Abu Khalifa, a 20-year-old who lived in the Balata refugee camp, died from wounds resulting from Israeli army gunfire. He was shot with two live bullets in the upper chest, one of which penetrated his heart.
From the 36 that are wounded 3 have life-threatening injuries. Another 25 people were treated for tear gas inhalation.
Israeli forces had opened fire at young men attempting to block their passage after the soldiers swept into several areas in Nablus, including Amman Street, Jerusalem Street, the vicinity of Joseph’s Tomb, the Balata and Askar refugee camps and many surrounding communities.
Furthermore, he Israeli army has shut down several Palestinian civil society organisations in the West Bank.
Last week, three Palestinian gunmen were killed in a shootout with Israeli forces in the northern city of Nablus.
