There are reports of protest action in Lenasia South on the Golden Highway at the R558.

Residents of Finetown have barricaded the roads with burning tyres and are allegedly throwing rocks at passing motorists.

The JMPD’s Wayne Minnaar says motorists should use alternate routes as it’s not safe.

“There are currently protests at K43 and Provincial Road in Lenasia South. Motorists are advised to use the old Lawley road as an alternative route. At this point I cannot confirm the reason for the protest, but I know it’s not safe for motorists to drive through that area.”
