The University of South Africa (UNISA) says it has taken the decision to extend the examination period by two weeks due logistical complexity and the late delivery of study material.
In a statement, Principal and Vice-Chancellor Mandla Makhanya says students will now be able to choose between writing from the 2nd of May as per the original timetable or writing from the 10th of June in 2017.
“The examination dates for modules scheduled from 15 May 2017 will remain the same. More information will follow on the rescheduling of examinations.”
Makhanya says the main concern is to ensure that students are able to write their examinations with adequate time and resources.
