An alleged 52-year-old paedophile wanted in the UK for sexual offences is expected to apply for South African citizenship.

Lee Tucker has been living in Cape Town for the past 15 years ever since fleeing from Britain.

It’s alleged Tucker was part of a paedophile ring that targeted boys aged between 12 and 15 years old.
 
He was arrested last week after the SAPS received an arrest warrant from Interpol who says he had committed 42 counts of indecent assault on minors in the UK.

Tucker was first arrested in 1998 in Bristol in the UK and was found guilty of several child sex assaults in 2000.

After having been handed an 8 year jail sentence, he appealed and was acquitted.

Tucker is expected back in the Community Court on Thursday
