Travellers using the Muslim prayer facilities at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg have been urged to look after the area  after the female sections was allegedly flooded due to a blocked drain.

It’s emerged on social media that the “irresponsible disposal of tissues, nappies” and other debris in the ablution area has resulted in extensive damage to the carpets and plumbing.

The OR Tambo Musallah trustees says it’s important to look after the facilities.

“Whilst ORTIA Musallah has employed cleaning staff we further plead to fellow worshippers to respect and take care of the facilities.”
