Traditional medicines can help other medical conditions: Health Minister

Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang says she believes traditional medicines have huge potential to produce new and alternative treatments for serious health conditions.

She spoke to traditional healers involved in a project of planting indigenous medicinal plants in Richmond, KwaZulu-Natal.

Tshabalala-Msimang says the Department, along with traditional health practitioners, will ensure that the land in Richmond will be properly maintained and utilised.
