Trade Route Mall Confirms No Injuries After Hail Storm Damage

December 31, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 31-12-2017

The management of Trade Route Mall in Lenasia has confirmed there has been no injuries after a severe hailstorm hit the shopping centre.

The mall says a ceiling panel in the court area outside the cinema collapsed on Saturday due to the flooding of the gutters and blockages caused by the hail.

The hailstorm also hit Fruit & Veg City Food Lovers Market opposite the mall where the roof collapsed.

Trade Route Mall’s Vanessa Fourie says the top floor of the shopping centre was affected and that clean up operations are underway.

“We confirm that within Trade Route Mall we suffered no casualties nor injuries. Our centre has been affected by severe water damage but we are busy with a full a cleanup operation with everybody on site.”

Fourie says all Trade Route Mall’s centre operations and facilities will continue as per usual from Sunday.
