One person has been injured and several homes damaged in Ennerdale south of Johannesburg after they were struck by a tornado.
It’s understood the tornado which started out as a funnel cloud hit the area this afternoon.
Joburg Emergency Services Robert Mulaudzi says the injured person has been transported to hospital for further treatment
“We are responding to an incident in Ennerdale Extension 8 whereby about three houses were affected by a tornado, their roofs were blown away. In the process there was one person who was injured.”
Mulaudzi says emergency services will remain on high alert to assist other people that may have been affected by the twister.
