Toddler Drowns in Pool in Kempton Park

November 07, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 07-11-2017

A young girl believed to be two-years-old, has drowned in a residence pool in Kempton Park.

It is understood the guardian found the child floating in the pool yesterday and contacted paramedics.

Paramedics says on arrival they found the young girl showed no signs of life.

ER24’s Russel Meiring says local authorities were on scene for further investigations.

“We immediately started CPR and advanced life support interventions in an effort to revive her. Shortly after treatment the girl was transported to a nearby private hospital for urgent care. Unfortunately after a short time no vital signs returned and she was declared dead.”

ER24 has urged people never to allow a child to swim without adult supervision and also never to leave youngsters unsupervised around water bowls or bathtubs as drowning can take place in approximately two centimetres of water.
