KwaZulu Natal police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Tongaat businessman Ashveer Sukwa.

It’s understood 35-year-old Sukwa was stabbed at least 35 times and wrapped in a bed sheet and blanket, while his father was also attacked on Saturday after the suspects broke into their home in Greylands.

Sukwa’s 65-year-old father was rushed to hospital for medical attention with serious stab wounds

Police say the house was ransacked and a number of household items were stolen.

Spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says the three suspects are aged between 20 and 32

“The KwaZulu Natal Provincial Commissioner Khombinkosi Jula praised Tongaat police officers and the private security officials for working tirelessly in tracing the suspects who killed and also injured innocent victims over the weekend. The suspects were taken to the Tongaat police station for processing and will appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of murder, attempted murder and robbery.”

Sukwa is expected to be laid to rest today.
