Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with a body found in a burning car in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg, Gauteng police said.

They were arrested in Boksburg on Tuesday night, said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.

The woman’s body, burnt beyond recognition was found on the back seat of the car on Friday. She is said to be from Vosloorus on Gauteng’s East Rand.

“Our investigation found that they ordered jewellery from a jewellery shop and the lady came to deliver the jewels to their house in Boksburg,” he said.

“They took her and drove with her to Lenasia where they killed her and burnt the car.”

A missing person’s case had been reported to the police.

Makhubela said a case of murder had been opened.

The three would appear soon in court.
