Three suspects have been arrested for the murder of a 48-year-old man in Lenasia Extension 2, south of Johannesburg Gauteng police said.

“We had arrested three suspects for alleged murder which took place on Saturday night,” said the police’s Kay Makhubela.

According to a source, the murder may be related to tensions between the two families.

The source said the man’s wife and children were also in the car when he was killed.

It’s understood the suspects handed themselves over to the Lenasia police on Tuesday.

Makhubela said the suspects are aged between 19 and 22 years old.

“They will be appearing at Protea Magistrates Court facing charges of murder,” said Makhubela.

He said the police are continuing with their investigation.
