A Pakistani Journalist has told Radio Islam majority of Pakistani’s have warmly welcomed the visit of Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the country.
Mohammed Bin Salman was invited by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to visit the South Asian country where he signed investment deals worth $20bn.
After Pakistan, the crown prince will travel to India and China.
In an interview yesterday, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said he hoped Saudi Arabia and Pakistan could join hands to mobilize the international community to resolve the dispute in Kashmir.
Speaking to Radio Islam, journalist Rahimullah Yusufzai says there was very little criticism of Mohammed Bin Salman’s visit to Pakistan.
“The huge majority of Pakistani’s actually support Saudi Arabia, they are grateful for the help Saudi Arabia has given to Pakistan and because they believe that the Saudi government has been able to look after the holy places Makkah and Medina and also to look after the pilgrims, the Hajji’s. There’s a lot of admiration for Saudi Arabia in Pakistan.”
Yusufzai says there is a very important reason why the Crown Prince visited Pakistan before India and China.
“He gave importance to Pakistan as an old and trusted friend of Saudi Arabia and I think $20bn will invest in Pakistan, that also shows how close the two countries are.”
Mohammed bin Salman was also awarded with Pakistan’s highest civilian honour the Nishan-e-Pakistan (Order of Pakistan) at a formal ceremony to show the country’s respect and gratitude to Saudi Arabia.
