The Formula for a Happy Home

February 02, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 02-02-2018

As many marriages in todays times face trials and tribulations at some stage, a prominent Islamic scholar says one of the most important factors for personal happiness as well as happiness in society is for a stable, happy and serene environment at home.

Ml Sulaimaan Ravat says while the family home is a forte and place of retreat, its unfortunate that many couples complain about strife in marriages, disobedient children, difficult parents and hostile siblings.

He says the home environment is not what it’s supposed to be, and this impacts on individuals and society at large.

“Nabi (SAW) has given us one formula to bring barakah in the home and when there is barakah in the home, there will be barakah in all these relationships and the home can become a very happy and serene place. The Nabi of Allah told Anas (RA) ‘that oh my son, when you enter the home, make Salaam to your family.’”

Ml Ravat says the conveying of Salaams is sometimes taken for granted as many people think it should only be shared to outsiders.

“The more you make Salaam to your family, it will result in barakah for you and the family and the home.”

Ml Ravat has urged people to implement the formula of making Salaam when a person enters and leaves the home.
