Police are on the hunt for three men who allegedly shot and killed a taxi driver and dumped his body in an open veld near Lenasia South.
It’s believed the taxi driver was passing through Hospital Hills when he picked up a woman and three male passengers.
Lenasia South Police spokesperson Colonel Ivan Perumal says an argument ensued and the three male passengers opened fire on the driver.
“In the vicinity of Vlakfontein they suddenly pulled out a firearm and they shot the driver nine times and they fled with his taxi.”
Colonel Perumal says the woman was unharmed and dropped off by the suspects in Pimville in Soweto.
A case of murder and hijacking has been opened.
