Syria Report Back – A Sisters Narrative by Salma Vawda

September 18, 2013

Wednesday 20130918 – Sister Ammarah’s exclusive; a heart-wrenching yet inspiring interview of a sister’s journey to the ravaged land of Shaam. With the mission being led by her brother Moulana Goga, sister Salma, her husband and the rest of their team were hosted by a humanitarian relief organisation based in Turkey viz. the IHH.  She vividly describes her experiences and emotions, as a woman, having met and interacted with the women of war-scarred Syria.

Benefit the people of Syria by assisting in the building and upkeep of the first South African containerised village inside Syria, a project by the Al-Imdaad Foundation.

Do not miss sister Salma’s detailed account of the devastation and effects of war in Syria in the next two issues of The Muslim Woman Magazine. Interview conducted by sister Rehana Shah Bulbulia.  Homes destroyed.  Dreams destroyed.  Lives destroyed.

Syria’s widows and orphans, as sister Salma emphasised, need to be remembered, not just now, but years from now too.
