A two hour downpour flooded the entire area, causing damages estimated at thousands of rands.
The roof of a Police station was also ripped off, resulting in computers, files and documents being destroyed.
The Rustenburg local authority is still assessing the extent of the damage.
The municipality has promised to provide assistance where necessary.
