The number of COVID-19 infections in South Africa has breached the seven hundred thousand mark.
The Health Ministry on Friday announced that sixty one more people had died in South Africa after contracting the coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 18,370 on day 204 of the COVID-19 lockdown.
It says 2,019 new infections were picked up on Friday pushing the number of known cases in this country since the outbreak to 700,209
The recovery rate sits at 90%, meaning 629,260 people have so far recovered.
