Six Arrested in Lenasia for Violating COVID-19 Lockdown Level 3 Curfew

July 27, 2021

Faizel Patel – 27/07/2021

Six people have been arrested in Lenasia for contravention of level three of the Disaster Management Act.

It is understood police officers were patrolling along Rose Avenue, Lenasia Extension 1 when they spotted the individuals at FNB Bank during the curfew period.

The police’s Bafana Ndimande says the individuals failed to produce permits and to provide reasonable explanations for violating the curfew.

“The officers arrested them for failure to be confined to place of residence during the curfew period from 22:00 until 04:00. They were detained at Lenasia SAPS cells, and they will appear shortly at Lenasia Magistrates Court.”

Ndimande has urged the community to be vigilant at all times, report any criminal activities and abide by the Lockdown Level Three regulations.
