Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais Instructs Imams & Muezzin Dept to Have Backup Imam on Duty During Salaah

The General President of the Affairs of the Haram in Makkah and Masjid-un-Nabawi in Medina, Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais has instructed the Imams and Muezzins Affairs Department to have two Imams on duty during salaah in case one Imam does not report for duty.

This comes after the Fajr salaah in Masjidun-Nabawi was delayed for more than half an hour due to the Imam being unavailable on Wednesday.

Sheikh Sudais has since removed the department’s director.

Sheikh Sudais stressed that imams and muezzins implement the new measures immediately without delay.

Sheikh Sudais says Imams and muezzins must ensure smooth timing which does not affect the performance of prayer in the Two Holy Mosques.
