Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 06-11-2018

Joburg emergency services says a severe thunderstorm has wreaked havoc in parts of the city with one man injured in a wall collapse in Ennerdale.

Strong winds and heavy rains lashed a number of areas in the city including Ennerdale, Lenasia, Lawley, parts of Soweto, Orange Grove and Northcliff uprooting trees and damaging houses.

Joburg emergency services Robert Mulaudzi says officials hand their full last night attending to a number of incidents.

“There was an incident where one person was injured when a wall collapsed on him. In Ennerdale. The patient was transported to hospital for further medical care. At this stage we still have to do a consolidated report as to the other areas which might have been affected the Joburg storm.”
