Gun owners are up in arms as an amendment to the Firearms Control Act, may see self-defense, the protection of another person or the protection of property, no longer deemed valid reasons for owning a firearm.
This will mean that guns will have to be handed in. A 2017 version of the draft Firearms Control Act is on the cards and, if passed, will make life a lot harder for those wanting to purchase or continue to own a firearm for self-defense.
