October 12, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 12-10-2018

A Saudi Arabian official source has welcomed a declaration by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s office to investigate the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Khashoggi entered Saudi Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul on October 2 to obtain a document certifying he divorced his ex-wife and hasn’t been seen since.

In a statement on Twitter, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry says the declaration to the Turkish presidents office is in response to a Saudi request to form a bilateral expert level joint action team to disclose the merits of Khashoggi’s disappearance in Istanbul, Turkey.

“The official source a highly appreciation of such a positive move, reaffirming full confidence of the joint action team, through close cooperation among its members to carry out with their set assignments.”

Mofa says the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia takes pride in sustaining the security and safety of its citizens.
