Saudi King Pledges Millions to Palestine

April 17, 2018

Thahir Asmal, Radio Islam News – 17-04-2018

Saudi King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz has pledged $150 million towards Palestine through the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf.

The Saudi monarch also offered $50 million in aid to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.

King Salman made the pledge at the 29th Arab League summit held in the eastern Saudi city of Dhahran over the weekend.

He told the 16 heads of state from across the Arab world, who were gathered amongst hundreds of other delegates in his country, that the one-day meeting would be named “Jerusalem Summit” in support of the Palestine region.

“Palestine and its people are in the hearts of all Arabs and Muslims.”

King Salman also criticized US President Donald Trump’s controversial decision to recognize the Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and shift the US embassy there just over three months ago.
