In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and to preserve the health of pilgrims in accordance with the tenets of Islam, Saudi Arabia’s Health Ministry has called on patients who have underlying illnesses to postpone performing Umrah and visiting the Haram in Makkah, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The ministry made the announcement through an infographic published on its Twitter page and awareness platform “Live Well”,
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reports groups who are requested to postpone Umrah and visiting the Haram include pilgrims suffering from uncontrolled diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, cirrhosis, and coronary artery disease, and were admitted to a hospital in the last six months.
The SPA says the group also includes people suffering from cardiac insufficiency, immunodeficiency, chronic chest diseases, and were admitted to a hospital in the last year, in addition to pregnant women.
