Saudi Arabia Releases Statement Regarding Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Tomb

September 05, 2014

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News, 2014-09-05

Following reports of plans to move or destroy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Tomb in Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah al-Munawwarah, Saudi Arabia, the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques (Al-Haramain) has released a statement to dispel rumours that have been circulating.

Spokesman of the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques (Al-Haramain) Affairs (the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque), Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mansouri, explained that talks were circulated about the prophet’s room located inside the holy mosque of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

“The talk was originally based on a study conducted by a private researcher,” Al-Mansouri said.

Al Mansouri added that what was mentioned in that study doesn’t represent the view of the Presidency or the State as both are always keen to serve the two holy mosques and seek their honor and esteem without turning detrimental to anything of the past.

Al Mansouri said the view surfacing in the media recently is the researchers own view as any private research is customary treated.

“The Presidency urges researchers and media not to enter into what might trigger evocation, sedition and chaos. Instead, it calls for wisdom, objectivity and authenticity, and refraining from exaggeration of matters, particularly those pertaining to the two holy mosques.”
