The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Haram in Makkah and Masjid-un-Nabawi in Medina has installed advanced self-sterilization gates at the entrances to the Haram as part of the precautionary measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reports the gates are equipped with the latest technologies to screen worshippers before they enter the Haram.
The gates will be used for sterilizing people with sanitizer spray and equipped with thermal cameras to test temperatures from 6 meters.
It is also equipped with a smart screen for speed-reading of temperatures of several people at the same time.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has so far recorded 33,731 cases of COVID-19 infections with 219 deaths and 7,798 recoveries.
