Samsung Galaxy S9 to be Unveiled at MWC in February

February 14, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 14-02-2018

Samsung is expected to reveal its highly anticipated flagship devices the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus at 7pm on the 25th February.

The big reveal as Samsung calls it will take place at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which is one of the biggest events on the mobile calendar.

Craige Fleischer, Vice President of Integrated Mobility, Samsung South Africa, says the new device will change the way users experience smartphones.

“There has been a lot of speculation around the world about what to expect from the new device and we are confident it will exceed all expectations.”

All that’s been revealed about the Galaxy S9 so far is the evocative statement, “The camera. Reimagined”. It’s guaranteed, however, that over and above a reimagined camera there will be a plethora of intelligent technological advancement embedded and integrated into the device.

Reports indicate device will be the first to feature 3D emoji according to Korean publication ETNews.

ETNews reports that Samsung’s 3D emoji are more advanced than Apple’s Animoji on the iPhone X, but are similar in terms of resembling a 3D character that tracks the facial movements of the user and mimics them. The 3D emoji reportedly include animal characters that can be shared with friends.

Although the Unpacked Event is taking place in Barcelona, South Africans don’t have to miss out.

The big reveal will be live-streamed on http://www.samsung.com/za
