While it has been the most anticipated device of 2019 and pre-orders have flooded in, Samsung fans will have to wait a little longer for the Galaxy Fold.
The South Korean company has decided to delay the release of the Galaxy Fold globally including South Africa, following feedback from many reviewers that the device needs further improvements that could ensure the best possible user experience.
Samsung says to fully evaluate the feedback from reviewers further internal tests would be run on the device to iron out any problems before the launch.
It says Initial findings from the inspection of reported issues on the display showed that they could be associated with impact on the top and bottom exposed areas of the hinge. There was also an instance where substances found inside the device affected the display performance.
“We will take measures to strengthen the display protection. We will also enhance the guidance on care and use of the display including the protective layer so that our customers get the most out of their Galaxy Fold.”
Samsung says it plan to announce the release date in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile in Samsung South Africa says it will continue with the local launch of its new and innovative 8K QLED & QLED TV range on Tuesday.
