As the days of Hajj approach, thousands of pilgrims currently prepare in Aziziah, resting before the holy days of worship.
Radio Islam’s Molana Ibrahim Daya, a first-time Haji, has been in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the past two weeks. Talking to the station, Molana Ibrahim describes the atmosphere in Madina Al-Munawarah as extremely beautiful, stating that a feeling of peace and tranquility is evident all around.
Moving to Makkah Al-Muqarramah, Molana Ibrahim related that while it is a bit disheartening to see restrictions being placed on the times for performing tawaaf, these restrictions have been necessary to alleviate the spread of the virus.
With the build-up to the holy days, Molana Ibrahim relates that “people have been preparing for the days of hajj. Amongst the hujjaaj, you can sense a feeling of excitement throughout. They’re looking foreword to moving to Mina on Thursday; and then on Friday will be the day of Arafah which [we] are really looking foreword too.” He also says that there is some nervousness is attached to the anticipation of these holy days.
Molana Ibrahim Daya has applauded the ummah. He says “the way that people care for [each other] and share with [each other] in this journey – you feel the connection and brotherhood with everyone that you meet”.
Hajj will start on the 7th of July and continue to the 12th of July in 2022.
