The South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC) says it’s concerned about the exorbitant camp prices for the five days of hajj and will raise the issue with Saudi Arabian authorities when it attends a protocol meeting in the kingdom in February.
In a statement Sahuc has revealed the pricing for the five days of hajj packages it received from the Muassasah.
According to the pricing, hujaaj are expected to pay SAR 6,510 (R21,200) for the Category A Alsafa Camp, SAR 1,932 (R 6,300) for the Category B AlMarwah Plus Camp and SAR 1,617 (R 5,300) for the Category C Alwadi Plus Camp.
Sahuc’s Moaaz Casoo says the pricing is not conclusive until its signed off by the hajj body and the Muassasah.
“We sincerely request the South African Muslim community to make dua as the Sahuc delegation along with the South African consulate genersal in Jeddah will endeavour to try our utmost best to negotiate better pricing for our hujjaj.”
