The South African Hajj Umrah Council (SAHUC) has suspended a hajj operator for irregular activities.
In a statement the SAHUC said that it has suspended Al Huda Boland Hajj Jamaah as an accredited Hajj Operator with immediate effect for non-performance of financial obligations and contravention of the SAHUC / Hajj Operator Code of Conduct.
“The South African Hajj and Umrah Council has been in regular contact with the affected Hajjis and following a meeting with them, has taken the necessary steps to ensure that these Hujjaaj fulfil their trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Hajj by way of an amended package,” said Hassan Choonara the secretary general of SAHUC.
Meanwhile The South African Haj Travel Association Chairperson Sedick Steenkamp confirmed on Sunday that hujjaj will depart on time on Monday 1 September as planned.
Booleys Haj Jamaah [in Gauteng] will take full responsibility for all hujjaj in the Saudi Kingdom and has pledged full support for the hajjis,” Steenkamp told Voice of the Cape.
“We make shukr to Allah SWT who guided us through this difficult week.”
According to SAHUC, it will proceed with disciplinary action against the suspended operator.
