Lenasia based NGO Saaberie Chishty Society says a good samaritan has provided the organisation with earth moving equipment (TLB or Bobcat) on a trial bases to assist in challenges experienced in the Muslim burial process before the organisation purchases its own plant.
Saaberie Chishty recently embarked on a fundraising campaign to purchase the TLB or Bobcat with overwhelming donations and support from various communities.
The organisations Aboobaker Sayed says during the trial period, they will be in a better position to make an informed decision about whether the earth moving equipment will adequately address their needs including whether to buy their own TLB or Bobcat.
“Alhamdulillah, the funds received thus far have made it possible for us to consider various options of equipment which will not only address the challenges experienced with burials coupled with COVID-19 regulations, but also for long term planning at the newly allocated land (Oliphantsvlei Cemetery) the Muslim community of Lenasia and surrounding areas.”
Sayed has thanked the community for their generous support and donations assuring them that the funds will be used in the most effective manner once the organisations establishes which machine will meet all their requirements.
