Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 03-10-2017

A South African Hafez of the Qur’an and the 1438/2017 winner of the South African National Quran Competition (SANQC) will be competing in the 39th King Abdul Aziz International Qur’an Memorization finals to be held in the Haram in Makkah Saudi Arabia.

Hafiz Yusuf Loonat departed for Saudi Arabia yesterday.

He won the Gauteng regional stages which took place in Roshnee and went onto take first place at the national competition at the Nizamiye Masjid in Midrand.

SANQC’s Qari Basher Patel says they wish Loonat all the success.

“We hope he does well in the competition. He followed a very, very stringent programme preparing himself for the competition. We wish him all the best, May Allah be with him.”

The competition is expected to commence on Saturday.
