A 55-year-old man is expected to appear in a Mauritius court in connection with the murder of a South African woman.
Lara Rijs who worked as a manager in Port Louis for the Geneva Management Group global financial services in Mauritius was found murdered at her complex in Grand Bay on Monday.
It’s understood Rijs’ colleagues discovered her body when she failed to show up for work.
She was found on her bed with stab wounds.
Sahib Meerhossen a security guard who worked at the complex where Rijs lived, has been charged with the murder of the 34-year-old woman.
The motive for the murder is not known.
Meerhossen has denied he murdered Rijs.
The security guard will be back in court next Tuesday.
