The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning of cold weather conditions expected to hit Gauteng this week.
The cold snap will settle over the province on Friday.
This comes after the weather service says the cold front moves from the Western Cape to the central parts of the country.
Forecasters say the mercury is expected to plummet further into the weekend with mostly windy conditions and temperatures set to hover between 18°C in Pretoria, a maximum of 16°C in Johannesburg and Vereeniging a maximum of 15°C.
The weather service says the cold weather could last through the weekend in certain parts of KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
