The Royal House of Mandela says Israel is in great haste to use the last days of US President Donald Trump’s administration to foist their illicit claim on Palestinian lands and properties.

The Royal House of Mandela issued a statement acknowledging and supporting the United Nations International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed each year on 29 November.

Established in 1977, it marks the day in 1947 when the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution partitioning Palestine into an Arab State and a Jewish State.

In the statement, Mandla Mandela reminded South Africans and all who enjoy the fruits of democracy all over the world that “our freedom is yet incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinian people.”

“Today, as we commemorate this UN Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people, our thoughts go out to more than 6 million Palestinian refugees denied the rights of return to the country of their birth. Today, we reiterate our demand for all political prisoners to be set free and the cessation of all illegal settlements on Palestinian land.”

Mandela says Israel is desperately seeking to consolidate their plans for the complete annexation of the West Bank.

“Over the past month the Apartheid Israel regime has been working frantically to expand illegal settlements on the West Bank and in East Jerusalem in gross violation of UN Resolutions. Today, we remind the world that Apartheid Israel will not give up its aspirations to wipe historic Palestine from the map. Many Palestinians living in Ramallah and Gaza have been unable to return to their homes and families for more than a decade.”

Commemorating the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, UN Secretary-General António Guterres urged Israeli and Palestinian leaders to explore every opening to “restore hope” for a two-State solution.
