We all desire the Mercy of Allah to descend upon us and to envelope us. The person who has been blessed to be entered into the Mercy of Allah can never go astray and will never be lost or left wanting.
In fact, many times even in our dua we ask Allah to enshroud us in His Divine Mercy.
Yet the Holy Quraan gives us a very easy method of how we can gain the Mercy of Allah.
As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Rabb will admit them into His mercy. That will be a glorious achievement. [Al Jathiya 45: 30]
We therefore learn from this above verse that if we really want the Mercy of Allah, then we will have to engage in Good Deeds, without which it will not be possible to be from the fortunate people who have gained the Mercy of Allah.
Six Good Deeds
There is a very beautiful Hadith which tells us that our Holy Prophet ﷺ has pointed out six deeds for which he himself has guaranteed paradise.
Ubadah ibn Samit RA relates the following Prophetic saying:-
‘Ubadah ibn al-Samit RA reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Guarantee for me six deeds and I will guarantee for you Paradise:
1. Be truthful when you speak,
2. keep your promises when you make them,
3. fulfil the trust when you are trusted,
4. guard your chastity,
5. lower your gaze,
6. restrain your hands from harming others.
[Musnad Aḥmad, al-Mu’jam al-Kabir {Hasan (fair) according to Ibn Hajar}]
“Guarantee me you’ll do six things and I guarantee you Jannah” refers to six actions that are easy to do. These six deeds are among the doors of piety, which are so simple and easy to perform. Whoever continues to practices these six things in his life until death is guaranteed Jannah. This is a safe and sure path to paradise.
