Officials heading the Thai cave rescue operation says the four boys brought out of the flooded cave by divers on Monday are “safe and conscious” and now in a hospital.
Speaking to Radio Islam, British Caving Association member Tim Allen says the boys and their coach found themselves in a very unfortunate situation.
“Its fine that they went caving, the problem is that they made a mistake and they didn’t take enough note of the rain and the weather and they’ve become trapped in the caves.”
Allen says it’s rare that an incident like this occurs in a cave.
A total of eight of the 12 boys have now been brought out of the treacherous cave system by divers, including four who were brought out on Sunday, when the rescue operation began.
Thai navy SEALs and a team of foreign divers are conducting the rescue operation, and an international team of experts, including a U.S. military team, is providing assistance.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has sent a tiny submarine to Thailand to help rescue the remaining members of the soccer team trapped in the cave.
