REAL TEARS

December 04, 2007
Once a man decided to go to his brother's house for a visit. His brother was very generous to him and he spent a good time there. "How is life treating you?" asked his brother. The visitor replied: "I have got myself into debt and the man, to whom I owe the money, is demanding that I pay it back right now. I don't have any money at the moment, so how can I repay him? For this reason, I decided to come to you. I hope you can help me."

Without any hesitation, the host got up and gave him the money. Feeling very grateful, the man left. After he left, the host started to weep. "Why didn't you simply apologize and give him some excuse. You needn't have given him anything," said his wife. "No! I'm not crying because he took my money. Rather I'm crying because I did not ask him about his situation and waited untill he himself asked. I should have given him before he asked!" the man explained.

He shook his head and sat down quietly, thinking to himself that in the future he would try to be more caring about the people around him.
