Murder accused, 28-year-old Rameez Patel appeared in the Polokwane Magistrates Court in an attempt to get bail today.
The case has been postponed to next Tuesday.
Rameez is accused of shooting his 29-year-old wife Fatima Patel about 3 weeks ago.
Fatima’s uncle Farouk Choonara says the family can’t believe she is no longer with them.
“We are still traumatised and shocked that Rameez has killed Fatima and we still cannot come to terms with it.”
Farouk says they want justice to be served and for Rameez to remain behind bars.
“We don’t want Rameez to get bail. We want him to remain in custody, first of all because he is a flight risk, and also the way he brutally killed Fatima.”
The accused is adamant he did not kill his wife.
