Ramaphosa-Biden to Strengthen Relations

November 18, 2020

By Naadiya Adams

Tuesday evening marked the first step towards stronger relations between Africa and the United States.

Following a telephonic exchange with President-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday, President Cyril Ramaphosa says he is optimistic of a robust partnership between the United States and the African continent in promoting peace and stability in international relations while developing multilateralism.

The leaders recollected Biden’s visit to South Africa during the apartheid era, where Biden demonstrated his commitment to human rights and dignity for all South Africans.

Biden conveyed his respect for what the democratic South Africa has achieved.

The President wished President-elect Biden and Vice-President-elect Harris well for their term in office.
