Multi-Award winning Islamic radio station Radio Islam says its Ramadan 2019/1440 programming line-up is packed with features to enthuse and enhanced the spirituality of listeners in South Africa and across the globe.
Radio Islam officially launched its Ramadan line-up on Friday under theme Salaah.
The schedule of programmes include ‘Voice of Virtue’, a tribute to local Imaams or Muazzins and how they have impacted the lives of the community. It also highlights the importance and value of the Imaams and Muazzins in society.
No Ramadan schedule would be complete without features aimed at the youth. This year, Radio Islam International brings you ‘Maktab Minds’, a quiz that promises to unearth the potential of our Maktab learners. There are Over R20 000 in cash prizes up for grabs to participants.
Various Maktabs around the country will be represented by a grade 7 learner from their institution. The students will be tested on work they have learnt from Class 4 – 7 on subjects that include History, Aqaaid, Fiqh and general knowledge.
‘Kara in die Kasie’ is another feature that promises to share how the blessed month of Ramadan is experienced in informal settlements across the country with live crossings with Ml Muhammad Kara.
The Radio Islam Ramadan drama has always been a hit year after year, with thousands hooked to the series. This year’s drama is titled ‘Business’ focuses on the realities and the effects the corporate world has on people and their households.
Ramadan is essentially about the abundant recitation of the Quran and this year renowned Islamic scholar Ml Sulaiman Moola will be rendering the tafseer of one of the most intriguing stories of the holy Qur’an. The Story of Yusuf (AS).
These are just some of the highlights of Radio Islam’s Ramadan programming line-up. There is so much more to keep you spiritually enhanced including live broadcasts of taraweeh from local masaasjid and from the blessed lands of Makkah and Medina in Saudi Arabia.
From the Suhoor programme to African Dawn, the birth of Islam in South Africa and the news at 11pm, make Radio Islam your companion this Ramadan.
