Radio Islam International Well Respected & Held in High Esteem by Media Fraternity

Award winning former SABC journalist and local content Producer Hesley Harmse says Radio Islam International is well respected among the media fraternity and radio industry. 

Alhamdulillah, with the Grace of Allah, Radio Islam International has once again bagged an award for its cutting edge programming at the Liberty Radio Awards at the Sandton Convention Centre on Saturday night. 

The morning drive time programme Sabaahul Muslim hosted by award winning presenter Ml Sulaimaan Ravat, won the award for the best news and actuality show in the community segment. 

Radio Islam’s station manager Ml Haider Ali Dhorat was also inducted into the Hall of Fame for his contribution to the radio industry. 

Harmse who attended the awards evening says the respect Radio Islam has among the media fraternity is truly amazing.

“They adore you guys. Everybody was going crazy. I noticed that Radio Islam specifically are held in high esteem by community stations, commercial stations, SABC. It was amazing. I felt so proud to be associated with this station.” 

Over the years, Radio Islam International and its presenters have been nominated and won numerous awards including “Radio Station of the Year” making it one of the leading Islamic radio stations in the country if not the world.
