Joburg Metro Police have urged motorists to seek alternate routes due to protest action on both directions of the golden highway near Lenasia South.
Its understood residents have blocked roads with rocks and wood this morning making it impossible for traffic to pass through.
The JMPD’s Wayne Minnaar says the reason for the protests cannot be confirmed.
“There are protests at the moment at Golden Highway with the road blocked with rocks and locks of woods making it impossible for traffic to pass through. Offices are being sent to the area to control the situation.”
