Motorists have been advised to seek alternate routes following protest action at the Thembelihle informal settlement in Lenasia, south of Joburg.
Residents have barricaded the roads with rocks and debris on Monday morning.
It’s understood they are protesting over basic service delivery issues in the informal settlement.3
JMPD’s Wayne Minnaar says officers are monitoring the situation.
“There are protests in the Thembelihle area on the K43 so it’s affecting traffic from the southern side of Lenasia South. Motorists must be cautious, however officers are on the scene.”
